Bouncing Cap Stop Motion Animation
So I had a lot of problems with this one. Still using the worlds worst camera, I did many takes with many ideas, including slamming my hand down on the table to try to make it look like the cap pops off the paper and does a nice revolving parabolic arc, but I broke my tripod, and ran all my batteries out of power. So I took my camera apart and Jerry-rigged it to a potato based power source which didn't work either. But luckily my batteries are rechargeable, so after a bit of time they recharged (amazing I know!). So I sat on this one for a bit, and decided to simplify it. I planned out my key frames, and tried taking the shots from as many different angles as possible, mainly to try to keep the camera steady since I didn't have a tripod, which didn't work at all. So I tried tieing it down to objects and keeping the string taught and ended up with a steadier shot, but my angles were all over the place. Ultimately I kept my camera tied down and pressed it against my wall so it couldn't budge to much, which was a really painful process but it gave me much steadier shots. So again with my key frames planned out, I started re-shooting the shots and eye-balled the in betweens for the slow in and slow outs. If my equipment was better and I would have liked to do something more complex, like the idea listed and do some roto-painting, but maybe on the next stop motion project.

Assignment: Running Jump in Tracker
For this Assignment I had to have my roommate jump for me because of a back injury, I myself can't run and jump for the time being. I shot one video with me staring into the camera and then turning it around to film my roommate, and another of just my roommate. We filmed this in front of the student service center and for some reason. Blogger won't upload all my video clips.
End Note: For whatever reason blogger won't upload my actual jump takes. So I shall leave it with this.

Assigment 04: Tracked ball drop
I must have the worlds worst camera, there was a lot of motion blur as well as it seemed to record the ball dropping in the same place for a few frames and then jump forward. I also had many problems getting tracker to work right, and just as I was about to give up I discovered that I could run it through my web browser and that solved just about all of them. I'm not sure if I have the right graphs in the screenshot but I went through all the options available to try to set it up right.

Assignment #2
Montain Birth by Markus Erdt
Dr. Stein by Linda Luksic Sejic
Dr. Stein by Linda Luksic Sejic
About me: My name is Brian Stanley. I'm a senior level student here at SJSU in the Animation/Illustration program. I transfered to SJSU from Sierra College in Rocklin, California. My goal is to be a concept artist for movies or video games. At some point I'd like to own my own business, but like everyone, I have to start somewhere. I didn't originally transfer to SJSU for the AI program. When I started going to Sierra after the mortgage company that I worked for went out of business, I wanted to major in business and get back to work. I decided to take a color class on the side (Sierra College didn't have a particularly well designed art program to start in) and ended up deciding to go for it. The instructors has recamended Long Beach first and then San Jose. But unfortunatly Long Beach wouldn't take my application since they had closed applications a day or so before I started putting in applications, but San Jose did. So here I am and loving it. I honestly don't think I could have landed in a better place.
